Wrinkles are a natural process of ageing, but they don’t have to be a permanent fixture. Anti-wrinkle injections are one of the most popular ways men and women reverse the visible signs of ageing. Moreover, they are a swift, safe way to reduce dynamic lines and reduce static wrinkles, giving you a more youthful appearance.
Our face is an extremally dynamic part of our body; we use our face to express ourselves. I conjunction with exposure to the sun and lifestyle factors, such as dehydration and smoking, fine lines and wrinkles appear. As a result, these creases, which occur most commonly around the eyes, mouth, forehead and neck, can lead to premature ageing.
Anti-wrinkle has a long history in the NHS, so you can be sure it is safe for your skin. It is also the most common aesthetic treatment in the UK. Whether you want to look younger or just less tired, we can tailor the treatment to suit your individual needs and desires. You can choose between a frozen look or a more natural appearance to reflect your personality and desired outcome.

Ageing of the skin is a part of life; however, there are some actions we can take to help slow the process down, this include:
Wrinkles, though inevitable, needn’t be permanent. Several professional skin treatments are designed to address fine lines and wrinkles and even help prevent them. These include anti-ageing injectable treatments designed to strip back ageing skin and encourage collagen production; other treatments can also help such as skin boosters, PRP therapy, microneedlinig or skin peels.
Wrinkle relaxing injections – Botulinum toxin A (Azzalure), also known as ‘Botox®’ often referred to as anti-wrinkle or muscle relaxant injections. It is a non-surgical, anti-wrinkle treatment used to temporarily smooth lines and wrinkles on the face of both men and women.
It is a prescription-only medicine and should only be administered by practitioners with appropriate qualifications, medical training and experience.
The solution is carefully injected in minute amounts into the muscle; this temporarily relaxes the muscles, resulting in a smoother, softer, more youthful appearance. Unrelated areas are not affected, so you can still smile and frown, but the skin on the treated areas will not wrinkle as much.
This treatment can also prevent lines and wrinkles from forming in the first place.
Muscle relaxants may be right for you if you have facial wrinkles such as smile lines or horizontal forehead creases caused by overactive muscles. This treatment does not work on wrinkles caused by loss of skin elasticity or volume.
If you are looking for a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that will smooth out wrinkles and achieve younger-looking skin, Anti-wrinkle injections could be for you.
In certain circumstances, Botox® injections are not recommended, including if:
The treatment is safe and virtually painless. Topical local anaesthetic cream and ice packs are available to ensure a maximum of your comfort. What is a recovery time? There is minimal recovery time, which means you can resume your normal activities immediately following treatment.
This depends on the area treated and the individual client. Your first treatment may not last as long as subsequent. Muscle relaxants usually last 3-4months, but in some cases can last as little as 8 weeks or can last up to 6 months. Over time, you will notice the results of the treatment begin to fade, gradually returning your appearance to its pre-treatment state.
Immediately afterwards, minor side effects such as redness, swelling, and bruising are common. The treated area may also feel tender. These effects usually last 2-3 days and will not prevent you from returning to work and other normal activities immediately after leaving the clinic.
You might not see a change straight away. The toxin takes about 2 or 3 days to start working, and it might take up to 2 weeks to see the full effect.
The results of the Anti-Wrinkle treatment are not permanent. For best results is recommended to repeat treatments every 3-4 months. After repeated treatments, the results will last longer; therefore, treatments can be spaced every 5-6 months.
All patients are advised to:
The way our bodies respond to muscle relaxants can vary. Some of us may need more product than others to achieve the desired effect. At the DJ Clinic, we offer a free follow up visit and top-up service. The follow-up appointments are available between 2-4 weeks following your treatment, should you feel you require it.
Unfortunately, a top-up after 4 weeks would not be appropriate.
